In early June, Aurrum Kincumber residents, staff and their families enjoyed a morning of frivolity at a ‘Mad Hatter’ themed tea party in support of the Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea.

The event, which raised significant funds for cancer research, included entertainment from well-known artist Steve Richards, and some delicious cakes and warm savoury treats for everyone who attended.

Facility Manager Michelle Bottle said the fun-filled tea party was a great success.

“The Mad Hatter theme ensured a very entertaining atmosphere and there were plenty of crazy and colourful hats in sight. It was great to see everyone having a bit of a fun for a very worthy cause.”

Buoyed by the success of this year’s inaugural event, Aurrum Kincumber plans to organise an even bigger and better event next year, with raffles and prizes, and a karaoke competition.

With over $90 million raised across Australia since it first commenced in 1994, Australia’s Biggest Morning tea is one of the Cancer Council’s leading fundraising events to help beat cancer.
