Aurrum’s stand at the Maroondah Festival on Sunday 8 November was a huge success, thanks to the tremendous efforts of our staff.

Aurrum was one of the major sponsors of the event, which is now in its 26th year.

An estimate of 20,000 people passed through the event site throughout the day, making the Festival one of the biggest community events in Melbourne and a key event on the Melbourne cultural calendar.

Reservoir’s Client Services Manager Belinda Urbani said it was a wonderful opportunity to showcase to the community what Aurrum has to offer.

“Our stand heavily marketed Aurrum, and in particular, our Healesville residence.

“The bright and beautiful artwork by our Healesville residents was a huge hit, and we received some very positive feedback about our fulfilling Wellness and Lifestyle programs. PARO, our therapeutic robotic seal, was also on display and was a big highlight amongst children and adults,” Belinda said.

PARO has been proven as a stimulating and engaging tool for residents with dementia all over the world, and is currently being used in our Memory Support Units in Victoria and New South Wales.

Belinda said everything on the day went smoothly. “The Aurrum stand looked great; there was a wonderful atmosphere, and the weather was perfect.

“Healesville’s very talented Harp Therapist Carla, also performed throughout the day, adding a beautiful musical touch.

“A lot of planning and preparation went into the event, so thank you to all staff for your hard work.

“I’d also like to thank the local businesses from the Yarra Valley Region who kindly donated a large range of wines, champagne and chocolates for Aurrum’s free raffle on the day. Your generous gifts were greatly appreciated.”
