Australian aged care provider, Aurrum, has announced the appointment of award winning chef and Channel Seven My Kitchen Rules judge, Karen Martini, as Food Ambassador across its portfolio of aged care facilities.
The appointment of Ms Martini builds on Aurrum’s objective to establish a new standard in the provision of aged care in Australia.
“Ms Martini is among Australia’s leading chefs and we believe that she will assist in helping us select nutritious and tasty meal highlights from her own recipe range for our residents, which will be available in addition to our high quality base menu,” says David Di Pilla, chairman of Aurrum.
“I am really excited to be working with Aurrum and am particularly attracted to the organisation’s vision and values alues which are built around a family focused care culture. My food philosophy and passion is to use great food as a way to bring families together to create memorable experiences,” Ms Martini says.
“I look forward to introducing Aurrum’s residents to menu items that will be both traditional and tasty and importantly that will bring them enjoyment around the table with comforting feelings, while covering their nutritional requirements,” she adds.
A selection of Ms Martini’s designed menu options combined with Aurrum’s broader menu, leading in house dietitian conducting comprehensive nutritional reviews, on site chef and catering staff working from on-site kitchens, will create a nutritious and gourmet food experience for residents.
“We also hope to provide our residents with the opportunity to celebrate important events with their families at our facilities with a special private dining menu designed by Ms Martini,” Mr Di Pilla says.
Ms Martini discussed her food philosophy at the grand opening of Aurrum Brunswick yesterday (Thursday, 27 November 2014) – a five star boutique aged care facility.
