Aurrum has announced that the Aurrum Foundation will make a $120,000 donation over three years to Brisbane Water (NSW) Legacy.

The annual donation will be used to fund the cost of installing home-based personal alarm monitoring systems for Legacy dependents in the Central Coast community. When a widow or dependent living at home has an emergency, the alarm monitoring system alerts health professionals and Legacy Welfare employees.

According to Brisbane Water (NSW) Legacy Chairman Michael Hickey, “Legacy is seeing an increase in demand for personal alarm-monitoring systems as widows of former defence personnel age and become more isolated in their homes. This donation will enable us to increase the number of alarms we can provide and give these dependents and their families’ peace of mind at home.”

Aurrum’s partnership with Legacy reflects the company’s commitment to ensuring that Legacy families on the Central Coast are supported and receive the care they need.

Aurrum Chairman David Di Pilla (pictured) said, “Aurrum is honoured to be supporting Legacy through this donation because of the invaluable work they provide supporting the families of our injured and fallen servicemen and women in our communities.”

Legacy relies heavily on public support to carry out it services, and this significant announcement during Legacy Week 2015 will greatly assist the continuation of these services.

Mr Hickey said, “Aurrum’s generous contribution greatly assists in our work and we are very grateful for their support.”

Brisbane Water (NSW) Legacy currently assists more than 2,000 widows, children and dependents with a disability on the NSW Central Coast.
